Roger J. Harrington , Jr., a shareholder, served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable James R. Cavanaugh of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

In 2005-2010, Mr. Harrington was selected as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star Lawyer” by Law & Politics based upon a statewide survey of Pennsylvania lawyers and judges. He maintains a trial and appellate practice in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey that encompasses employment litigation involving trade secrets and the separation of employees or independent contractors with non-competition and/or non-solicitation agreements, shareholder litigation involving stock ownership, corporate governance and the respective fiduciary duties owed by officers, directors and shareholders, which often involves derivative claims brought on behalf of a business entity, and other complex commercial litigation, including the prosecution and defense of class action matters, matters involving business torts, such a unfair business competition and commercial defamation or claims involving the interference with economic advantage or contractual relationships, statutory claims, such as federal claims brought under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, The Lanham Act, The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and The Fair Credit Reporting Act and/or state claims brought under Pennsylvania’s Uniform Trade Secrets Act, Pennsylvania’s Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act or Pennsylvania’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, and/or integrated commercial agreements that can involve multiple parties, which can often require emergency or expedited equitable trial proceedings that seek to acquire or to defend against the imposition of special or preliminary injunctions or temporary restraining orders.

Mr. Harrington’s practice also includes insurance litigation, including litigation adverse to insurance companies in rehabilitation or liquidation under the supervision of the Insurance Commissioners in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the defense of Preference Actions commenced against policyholders, healthcare litigation, often concerning legal issues controlled by ERISA, as well as civil rights litigation and personal injury litigation to protect the rights of both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Harrington also been engaged to perform transactional work relating to the formation and governing of business entities, the sales and acquisitions of businesses, including franchises, and some related taxation work.

Mr. Harrington is a member of the Bars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and Third Circuit Court of Appeals. His professional relationships include the Montgomery and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, the Historical Society for Eastern District of Pennsylvania and The Brehon Society.

In 2007, Mr. Harrington was elected President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Montgomery Bar Association, which culminated a 4-year term of service as an Officer within the Young Lawyers Section. He was honored by the Montgomery Bar Association for distinguished service to the Young Lawyers Section in January, 2008.

In 2008, Mr. Harrington was elected to serve three year term as a Director on the Board of the Montgomery Bar Association, and in consecutive years 2008-2010 Mr. Harrington was appointed by the respective President of the Montgomery Bar Association to serve as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. He also served as Chair of the Montgomery Bar’s Association Insurance Committee during 2010.

In May 2000, Mr. Harrington graduated cum laude from the Villanova University School of Law, where he also earned a Masters in Business Administration in the Villanova College of Commerce & Finance in December 1999. In December of 2003, Mr. Harrington earned his LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law.

Prior to entering the practice of law, he graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1996 (McDonough School of Business 96’), where, as 3-year captain of its varsity baseball team, he earned All Big-East Conference honors in 1994 and 1996 and GTE District II Academic All-American honors in 1995 and 1996. During his collegiate days, Mr. Harrington also had the good fortune of playing in prestigious Cape Cod Summer Baseball League (Brewster Whitecaps, 1993 and Falmouth Commodores, 1994). Upon graduating from Georgetown, he played a year of professional baseball with the Zanesville Greys of the Frontier League then based in Zanesville, Ohio.

On June 16, 2005, Mr. Harrington was featured in the Philadelphia Daily News’ Game Faces Section under the title "Whatever happened to Roger Harrington?" that chronicled Mr. Harrington’s athletics achievements at LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, PA and Georgetown University and detailed his position as a commercial litigator with Elliott Greenleaf in Blue Bell, PA.   

Also in 2005, Mr. Harrington was included as part of "old school" team photograph featured in Major League Baseball Player and World Series Champion and then Boston Red Sox Centerfielder Johnny Damon’s New York Times Bestseller book entitled “Idiot” (see link). Mr. Harrington is in the center of the first row. Future Major League Baseball Players Johnny Damon, Alex Rodriguez and Todd Helton and future National Football League Quarterback Danny Kanell were all teammates of Mr. Harrington and are pictured on the team of 16-17 year olds playing out of Bergen Beech, Brooklyn, N.Y. during the Summer of 1991 in the Continental Amateur Baseball Association (“C.A.B.A.”) World Series played in Euclid, Ohio.
