Joel M. Wolff is an associate in the Firm's Scranton, Pennsylvania office. Mr. Wolff serves as trial and litigation counsel in disputes involving employment and commercial matters, personal injuries and real estate. Mr. Wolff successfully counsels individuals, corporations and public entities. Mr. Wolff is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Common Pleas and Appellate Courts. Mr. Wolff is a member of the Lackawanna County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Wolff earned his Juris Doctorate at Widener University's Evening Division Program in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania while caring for his daughter during the day in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Mr. Wolff successfully completed Widener's Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. Mr. Wolff also served two years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's JAG (Judicial Advocate General) Corp. while earning his law degree. His eight years of military service are distinguished by the honors he earned during the U.S. Army's rigorous training periods. While training for his position in the JAG Corp., he earned the "Coin of Excellence" for his performances in academics, physical training and combat training. He was awarded the "Leadership Award" and named "Honor Graduate" for the leadership ability and academic achievement he demonstrated while training for his position as a mechanic at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Mr. Wolff also serves, by appointment, to the Pennsylvania Military Affairs Committee.
Mr. Wolff earned his undergraduate degree from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The first in his family to earn a four year degree, he did so while working full time hours, serving in the military and carrying a full academic load. As an undergraduate, Mr. Wolff consistently made the Dean's List. Mr. Wolff also spent a Semester at Sea studying aboard the S.S. University which consisted of study and travel in ten ports of call circumnavigating the globe.
Mr. Wolff currently resides in the Scranton area with his wife Michele, their two daughters Cathryn and Norah and their son Brian.
